World AIDS Day Award Recipient
Dr. Claire Oakley - Dr. Oakley has had an impact on HIV services in our community in a number of ways. As a past Board Member for the Yellowstone AIDS Project, she provided years of guidance and valuable insights that strengthened our efforts. She also gives her own time and recruits others to volunteer at events throughout the year. Further, as a Professor at Rocky Mountain College, she has impacted hundrededs of students by raising their awareness of HIV/AIDS and by inspiring them to become actively involved in the community. These efforts have truly made a difference in many lives and will continue to have positive ripple effect well into the future.

Partnership Meals Program - Many of our clients struggle to meet basic needs and face the agonizing choice between buying food or paying for other necessities. Therefore, the Partnership Meals Program is a vital project that has a direct and powerful impact. While having delivered meals to persons living with HIV for years, this program has expanded over the past year to include preparing homemade frozen meals for clients in our office. This project is made possible by volunteers from St. Stephens Episcopal Church and AIDSpirit USA, and is supported by a grant from St. Vincent Healthcare. Volunteers meet monthly to prepare meals and deliver them to YAP so our clients can have good, nutritious food when times are tight. Our clients express ongoing gratitude for not just the delicious meals but the caring, thoughtful volunteers who make it all possible.
World AIDS Day Artist
Brent Cotton creted the beautiful, "Dawning of a New Day" painting to commemorate the Yellowstone AIDS Project's 17th Annual World AIDS Day Benefit. Regarding the painting Brent had this to share, "I wanted to create a piece that would be appealing to many folks and hopefully convey a quiet and peacefull moment we can all appreciate." Raised on his family's cattle ranch in Idaho, Brent's first lessons in art were taught by his grandmother, a talented watercolorist. These early years and his time as a guide in Idaho and Alaska have influenced his work as he strives to create a mood of peace through his art. His work has been recognized through several national awards including the prestigious national competition "Arts for the Parks" where he won both the People's Choice and Region III awards. His work also hangs in many corporate and private collections included collectors such as Oprah Winfrey and Tom Brokaw. Brent and his wife, Jennifer, live in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Montana. We thank him for his generosity and for creating a breathtaking piece to honor & commemorate our 2012 World AIDS Day Benefit.
