World AIDS Day 2011
On December 3rd, 2011, the Yellowstone AIDS Project hosted the 16th Annual World AIDS Day Benefit at the Big Horn Resort at 6 pm. This event was titled Simply Elegant: Thiry Years of Fighting & Thriving. The evening included tapas catered by Beyond Basil, a wine tasting, a moving speech by HIV positive Montanan, D.Gregory Smith and Venture Theatre performed excerpts from the Broadway Musical, "Rent".
The event was a great success thanks to the generousity of people in our community.

World AIDS Day Award Recipient

Dr. John Malloy -- When discussing quality services for persons living with HIV/AIDS in Eastern Montana, the name Dr. Malloy is often spoken. The comments after his name are consistently words of praise for his dedication and commitment. Dr. Malloy is a Family Practitioner who has spent the past 8 years at RiverStone Health and expresses gratitude for working for 6 years with Kathy Hall nad the RiverStone team to serve the medical needs of HIV+ patients. He is know by his colleagues for his deep caring and going out of his way to help everyone he serves. He is also know by his patients for providing not just medical care but a sense of strength and comfort. Thank you Dr. Malloy for making a difference in our community.
Mark Ackerman Volunteer Award Recipient

Donna Wagner -- Donna has been a long time volunteer with the Yellowstone AIDS Project/ Her warm smile and generous heart have become instrumental in our ability to support our clients. She tirelessly transports donated pantry items from Wal-Mart in Laurel to our office and is always looking for opportunities to support those in need. Donna also provides support to many of our events and gives of herself often to assure that others have what they need. Thank you Donna. Your contributions are truly appreciated and make a difference in the lives of our clients.
World AIDS Day Artist
Lynn Montague is a well known and respected figure in our community and a very accomplished artist. She earned a bachelor's degree in Art after studying at the UNiversity of Utah, Montana State University-Billings, the Marchutz Painting and Drawing School in Aix-en-Provence, France, and pursuing coursework in art history and painting in Venice, Italy. Her work is widely praised and is a great addition to this year's event. We are greatful for her generosity and the intense amount of time she dedicated to this piece in commemoration of World AIDS Day.
