Tri-state HELP HOPWA
(Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS) is a program which helps to provide financial assistance for housing and assist with related support services to low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families in Montana.

Tri-State HELP Services

  • Emergency Assistance -- Individuals that are homeless or at immediate risk of being homeless.
  • Rental Assistance -- Individuals having difficulty paying rent or mortgage due to his/her HIV/AIDS status.
  • Support Services -- Referrals for medical services: health care providers, counseling, and nutrition programs.

Tri-State HELP Goals
To provide a stable housing environment and provide access to the following services:

  • Medical care
  • Support services
  • Recovery and Counseling services

How Do I Qualify?
In order to receive Tri-State HELP services, you must meet the following criteria:

  • HIV verification -- signed physician statement, viral load or lab test results.
  • Homelessness -- or at risk to become homeless.
  • Low income status -- (this is determined by each county, contact your local agency for more info.)
  • Proof of income -- social security statement, public benefits and/or employee pay stubs
